Both systems require manufacturer-level JLR diagnostic software — SDD for the early BCM variants and later SDD or Pathfinder for KVM-equipped models. Generic automotive key programmers cannot access the L322’s proprietary authentication protocols.

Can you programme a key for a pre-facelift L322 with a standard blade key?
Yes. Early L322 models used a flip-style 433 MHz remote with a blade key rather than a push-button smart fob. We carry compatible blade key remotes for pre-facelift L322s and programme them through the BCM using JLR diagnostic software. The programming procedure is the same regardless of whether the vehicle has the older blade remote or the later smart key system.
My L322 key fob works for starting but not locking — can you fix this without replacing the whole key?
If the transponder side of the key is working but the RF transmitter has failed, we can supply a new remote body, transfer or re-pair the transponder and programme it to the vehicle in a single visit. In many cases the blade transponder can be retained and only the remote housing and RF electronics need replacing, which reduces the cost compared to a full key replacement.
Does the L322 with KESSY keyless entry use a different programming process?
L322 models fitted with the optional KESSY keyless entry and start system use the KVM module, which requires the same KVM-based programming process as standard post-2010 L322 smart keys. The KESSY antenna rings in the door handles are separate from the key security module, so if keyless entry stops working but push-button start still functions, we diagnose whether the fault is in the antenna wiring, the KVM or the fob itself.
Will you have the correct parts for my L322 year if it’s an older example?
Yes. We carry L322-compatible key hardware for all production years from 2002 to 2012. Both the pre-facelift 433 MHz blade remotes and the later smart key fobs are stocked in the van. If you have an early L322 with an unusual specification, we verify compatibility on the phone before travelling to confirm we have the right hardware.
Is there a warranty on L322 key programming?
All parts and programming on the L322 carry a 12-month warranty. If a programmed remote fails within the warranty period, we return to site at no charge. The fixed price quoted by phone covers all labour and parts with no hidden call-out fees.
