The Jaguar I-PACE is an all-electric vehicle and the all-keys-lost process has a few important differences from other JLR models. This is what actually happens when we attend an I-PACE with no working keys.
The 12V Battery Issue Matters Before Anything Else
The keyless entry, door handle unlocking, and KVM communication all run on the 12V auxiliary battery, not the main traction battery. It does not matter if your traction battery shows 80% charge. If the 12V auxiliary is flat or low, none of the key systems will respond. This is the first thing we check on arrival. If it is below a stable threshold, we connect a battery support unit before attempting anything else. Trying to programme keys into an I-PACE with a low 12V will abort the process midway and can leave the KVM in an incomplete state. If your I-PACE has been sitting unused for several weeks, assume the 12V is low.
What the All-Keys-Lost Process Involves
Once the 12V battery is stable, we connect to the OBD port via Pathfinder, clear every registered key profile, and programme a new key from scratch. Access uses the standard JLR backup entry procedure via the emergency point behind the driver’s door badge. We use non-destructive methods throughout. Total time on site is typically 75 to 90 minutes, slightly longer than a petrol F-PACE due to the additional 12V management steps.

Does Phone-as-a-Key Help?
Partly. Jaguar’s Phone-as-a-Key via the InControl Remote app can unlock and start the I-PACE if the app is set up and the phone has signal. However, it does not replace the physical key for KVM purposes. The KVM still needs a programmed fob registered to it. When to go to a dealer instead
If your vehicle is still under JLR factory warranty and the fault is covered, take it to a dealer. Warranty repairs are free and no specialist can match that.
