Fast Help:
The Jaguar E-PACE (X540) is Jaguar’s compact SUV, on sale from 2017 right through to 2026 and sharing much of its underpinnings with the Range Rover Evoque. It runs the same encrypted JLR security platform as the rest of the modern Jaguar range, which is exactly why a lost or damaged E-PACE key cannot simply be sorted at a high street locksmith. The two routes that actually deliver a working key are a main Jaguar dealership and AJ Auto. We carry the correct JLR diagnostic kit and virgin keys for every model year of the X540, supplying spare keys, full replacement remotes and complete all keys lost recovery anywhere in the UK. Our technicians come to you, programme the key on the spot and have you back in the car the same day in almost every case, with no lock module replacement and no need to recover the vehicle.
For an E-PACE spare key or a replacement for a lost or damaged fob, we come to you and cut and programme the new key on site. Your existing keys keep working alongside the new one, the central locking and alarm are left untouched and there is no need to swap out the security module to make a fresh remote talk to the car.
For an all keys lost callout we access the immobiliser and security modules directly, clear the old key data and programme new remotes on the spot, so the vehicle never needs to be towed or recovered. Every remote we supply fully supports keyless entry, push button start and the proximity locking the E-PACE came with, and we always leave the customer with at least two working keys before we go. Parts and labour come with a 12 month warranty, and the price is agreed up front before we set off, so there are no surprises on the day.
Every E-PACE since 2017 uses the same smart proximity remote with push button start, sharing its key family with the rest of the modern Jaguar lineup and very closely with the Range Rover Evoque it is built alongside. The fob carries a high security blade for the emergency lock cylinder and a passive transmitter that talks to the Keyless Vehicle Module, both of which need to be virgin coded by JLR diagnostics before the car will accept them. We stock virgin remotes for the full 2017 to 2026 production run.
By far the most common reasons we get called out to an E-PACE are a flat fob battery, a damaged spare from school run wear and tear, and the loss of a single key from a two key household. The dealer route for any of these jobs typically runs into several hundred pounds and a slot wait of one to two weeks, often with the car needing to be moved to them on a recovery truck if it is stranded. Our mobile fixed price is meaningfully lower and the work finishes the same day in almost every case.
How quickly can you replace a Jaguar E-PACE (X540) key on site?
Pre 2020 facelift E-PACEs sit on the older JLR security platform and are typically finished in 5 to 10 minutes for a spare key and 20 to 40 minutes for an all keys lost callout on a locked car. Post 2020 facelift E-PACEs moved to the newer Pivi Pro security architecture and take 10 to 20 minutes for a spare and around 40 minutes for an all keys lost lockout. Either way we attend on site with dealer level JLR diagnostic kit and finish in well under an hour in almost every case.
I came from a BMW or Audi to my E-PACE, is anything different about how Jaguar key work is handled compared to those brands?
The diagnostic and programming process on the E-PACE is similar to a modern BMW or Audi in concept, but the underlying JLR security architecture is a completely different system that requires Jaguar specific tooling. Independent locksmiths who handle BMW and Audi cars often cannot programme E-PACE keys without subcontracting the work, which is why we focus exclusively on JLR. The result for you is the same as a dealer slot but with mobile attendance and same day completion, even on the more recent Pivi Pro cars.
I lost my E-PACE keys at the gym, supermarket or shopping centre car park, can you attend a public space?
Yes. E-PACE callouts at multi storey car parks, retail park bays, gym car parks and supermarket sites are routine. We can usually identify the bay from your E-PACE location service or a quick phone call with the duty manager, and we work alongside the car as it is parked rather than needing it moved or recovered. A typical public car park all keys lost takes around 40 minutes from arrival on site.
Can you attend an E-PACE callout at my workplace during the working day?
Yes. We attend office car parks, business park sites and workplace bays during normal working hours so you do not have to take time off. As long as we have access to the parking area and the car is not blocked in by another vehicle we can finish the work without disturbing your meetings. Many E-PACE owners on lease or company schemes use this exact route rather than booking time off for a dealer slot.
This is my first Jaguar and the dealer is insisting on a security module replacement before any new keys can be paired, is this normal or am I being upsold?
On a relatively recent E-PACE the locked module diagnosis should always be questioned. We attend E-PACE owners who have moved to Jaguar from German marques and been told the module needs replacing, only to clear the lockout on the same visit using specialist JLR tooling without any module work. New Jaguar owners are sometimes given the worst case scenario by a dealer service advisor when a less invasive route exists. Before paying for a module replacement, a specialist callout almost always identifies whether the lockout is genuine or simply a stuck pairing state.
