L551 vs L538 — Which Evoque Do You Have?
The original Evoque (L538, 2011 to 2018) used a different security architecture from the current model. The new Evoque (L551, 2019 onwards) uses the full KVM system with Pathfinder. The L538 used an older setup that is simpler to programme but still requires specialist JLR tooling. We work on both generations. What the All-Keys-Lost Process Involves
For the L551, the process is the standard JLR KVM clear and rebuild: we connect to the OBD port via Pathfinder, clear every registered key profile, and programme a new key from scratch. For the L538, the process is similar but uses SDD rather than Pathfinder and the parameters differ. On both models we use non-destructive vehicle access methods and test all key functions fully before leaving.
